Is Using an Anal Bleaching Kit Safe?

Anal bleaching is something that more and more people are starting to do in a bid to get their skin looking clear and smooth. You can buy an anal bleaching kit and use it at home, but if you're going to do that then you will need to be very careful about the kit you use, and make sure that you follow the instructions very carefully, because anal bleaching is risky if you don't do it properly.

Before you bleach your anus, you will need it waxed, and then you rub bleach into the clear, hair-free surface. The bleach that you use isn't just 'kitchen bleach' – it's a lotion or a gel specially designed for the purpose. You would apply it and leave it for a few minutes to lighten the area. It takes around 20 minutes to complete a treatment, and you might need several to see results, depending on how dark your anus is.

Anal bleaching is a relatively new phenomenon. It started because women were getting Brazilian waxes, and were surprised when they discovered dark skin underneath. They became self-conscious about the discoloration, and decided that they wanted their skin lightened.  This is a cultural thing in a lot of ways – pornography is becoming more and more common, and this is skewing people's perception of what normal skin looks like.

Dermatologists are warning people that this is a risky procedure, and that if you leave the bleach on for too long it could burn or scar your skin. The good news is that most home kits are quite mild, so it is less likely that you will do damage if you follow the instructions properly. Note, however, that the darker pigmentation will come back over time – and in some cases the way that the skin reacts to the bleach can make your skin look darker. It's a good idea to do a careful spot test, and to remember that this is something that you will only be using for special occasions, or for a dental floss bikini in the summer.

If you have sensitive skin, consider seeing a doctor and having them do it, rather than trying to do it at home with an anal bleaching kit. This will reduce the risk of undesirable side-effects, and help you to keep your skin looking as fresh and clear as possible, whatever it is that you plan to wear.
